A major Biomechanics Research Project has been taking place during the IAAF World Championships, Daegu 2011 (27 Aug to 4 Sep) in Daegu Stadium.
The project which follows on from a comprehensive study made in Berlin 2009 - click here - is being conducted by the Korean Society of Sport Biomechanics (KSSB) on behalf of KAAF (Korean Amateur Athletic Federation) in cooperation with the IAAF and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of Daegu 2011. Just over a year ago, Germany’s Linda Stahl upset the odds to win the javelin gold medal at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona, rising to the occasion with a personal best of 66.81m.

Until 2009, Norway’s double Olympic champion had a weak spot in his CV – if you count successive World silver medals as weak. He fixed that imperfection in Berlin with a winning throw of 89.59m.
