Tiaan breaks South African u15 javelin record

The Western Cape Schools Athletics Team had much more success than last year at the South African High Schools meeting this past weekend. They won 81 medals as opposed to 60 last year.

In the boys under 15 category Tiaan Swanepoel threw the javelin an amazing 71.37m, which is a new South African record (boys u15).

In the youth category (under 17), Morné Moolman and Jeandré Slabbert's battle continued with Moolman's triumph with 73.51m and Slabbert took second place with 69.99m.

The top performance by Western Cape athlete Tiaan Swanepoel was the overall top achievement of the meeting.
