South American Championships Results

Buenos Aires, Argentina - The 47th edition of the South American Championships, the oldest Area Championships in the IAAF, ended on Sunday, 5th of June.
Colombia dominated the javelin events with IAAF/VTB Bank Continental Cup 2010 finalist Arley Ibargüen winning the Men's Javelin with a throw of 73.61m, while María Lucelly Murillo won the Women's javelin throw with 55.85m.
Braian Toledo of Argentina, competing for the first time at the South American Championships, was fourth with 71.05m. Toledo broke the youth wOrld record last year with a throw of 89.34m with the 700g javelin, and his personal best is 76.70m with the 800g javelin thrown this March.
In the Women's javelin throw the silver medal went to Leryn Franco, who broke the Paraguayan record with 55.66m, which she held since 2007.
