Sixteen-year-old Argentinean Braian Toledo bettered the Javelin (700g) World Youth Best by reaching 89.34m on Saturday 6 March in Mar del Plata.
In his second competition of 2010, and twenty-one days after throwing 84.85 in Buenos Aires and setting the previous WYB, Toledo was impressive once again. Profiting from a windy afternoon, the bronze medalist from the 2009 IAAF World Youth Championships in Bressanone, reached 89.34m in his first throw to the delight of the attendance. Although not even 15 years old, the talented young athlete Morné Moolman already possesses the potential to become one of the best South African javelin athletes of all times. This is the unanimous point of view of all those who are familiar with the qualities which are needed for an athlete to proceed to the very top in this very technical athletics event.
